July 17, 2008, COLUMBUS — It wasn’t officially Turn Back the Clock Night in a raucous Crew Stadium but the Columbus Crew and Kansas City Wizards put on an offensive outburst in the first half that harkened to the inaugural year of MLS in another nationally televised Thursday night match.
Josh Wolff’s second-half equalizer gave the Wizards a share of a wild 3-3 draw, but was the only goal after the break following a first-half blitz.

Buru double downs Spain
Two goals from Spain’s Amarelle threatened to upset the reigning world champions, but Buru completed a double of his own to snatch Brazil victory.

UAE rally for big victory
United Arab Emirates scored five unanswered goals in the final period to beat Cameroon 10-4 in a match that hung in the balance for so long.

Villalobos sparks Mexican fightback
Trailing 1-0 after two periods, Ricardo Villalobos scored two brave headers to inspire Mexico to a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Japan.

Federico treble undoes Russia
Federico Hilaire scored twice in the closing stages to complete his hat-trick and help Argentina twice come from behind to beat Russia 5-3.

New Chelsea football club signing Portuguese midfielder Deco (R) and Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari attend a press conference at the Chelsea FC training ground in Cobham, Surrey, on July 18, 2008. Deco has urged Chelsea to secure Frank Lampard’s future if the club wants to realise its dream of winning the Champions League. Lampard has been the subject of frenzied transfer speculation since the end of last season, with Inter Milan keen to reunite him with former Blues manager Jose Mourinho at the San Siro.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica (or SL Benfica) has released their adidas 2008-09 kits. The home kit was worn by once Argentina international Pablo Aimar during his official Benfica presentation on July 17th, 2008. Aimar recently signed a 4-year deal with the Portugese BWINLIGA side.

AC Milan Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho is officially presented to his fans at the San Siro stadium in Milan, Italy, July 17, 2008. He is wearing the long awaited 2008-09 AC Milan adidas Home Kit / Shirt.

Sky TG24 television said around 30,000 fans had shown up to see their new star enter the San Siro arena in a black and red club shirt but without a number on the back.

Earlier, Ronaldinho said: “I can confirm I desperately wanted Milan. Many things have happened, but in the end I am a Rossonero.

“I’m happy to be here and I repeat, I hope to make the Milan crowd joyful,” said the world champion, who joins compatriots Kaka and teen prodigy Alexandre Pato at the San Siro.
