FRISCO, Texas — For much of the year, FC Dallas has struggled to score goals. But that all changed on Sunday against the Los Angeles Galaxy as the Hoops got two goals from Kenny Cooper and one each from Dominic Oduro and Abe Thompson in a 4-0 win at Pizza Hut Park, giving head coach Schellas Hyndman his first MLS victory.
Cooper scored both goals in a two-minute span early in the first half, giving him 11 for the season, now one behind LA’s Landon Donovan for the MLS Golden Boot.

APPIANO GENTILE, Italy – Inter Milan on Monday unveiled their second major summer signing with the arrival of Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari.

The former Portsmouth man, who previously played five seasons at Udinese, has joined for a fee believed to be in the region of 14 million euros (22 million dollars) and he will wear the number 20 shirt next season.

He joins Brazil winger Alessandro Mancini, who arrived from AS Roma, as the first signings made by new Inter boss Jose Mourinho.

It is a swift return to Italy for the 23-year-old after just one season at Portsmouth.

The Ghana international said he was looking forward to working with Mourinho.

The Dutch left-back badly dislocated his right ankle in the first-half of a 1-0 win at Villa Park which sees the Midlands club progress to the final Uefa Cup qualifying round.

Bouma was carried off amid scenes worryingly reminiscent of Arsenal striker Eduardo’s injury across Birmingham at St Andrew’s in February, with the Villa players looking on in shock as the 30-year-old was treated on the pitch.

“He had a brilliant season last year for us, it is a major blow,” O’Neill said. “It’s a bad injury but if anybody can pull through it it’s Wilfred.”

With Bouma facing a lengthy lay-off, Villa are now short of defenders as they prepare for a Uefa Cup campaign and O’Neill said he had “serious work to do” in the transfer market.
