Brazil’s 2004 World Cup winning striker Romario is considering legal action against former club Vasco da Gama for the non-authorised sale of a Reebok commemorative shirt marking his 1,000th goal.

According to reports from Brazil, Romario, who retired at the beginning of 2008, aged 42 was considering suing both his former Rio de Janeiro club and Reebok company for the illegal use of image rights.

Romario’s lawyer, Norval Valeri, said Romario did not authorise the sale of the special 1,000th goal shirt nor was it covered in his agreement with the club on image rights.

Romario could now consider an agreement with Vasco Da Gama and Reebok Company to sell this t-shirt. I think a limited edition is a great idea and many fans around the world would buy it for sure!
