Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2009 Reviewed – The End of an Era?
Posted by Footballer on November 10, 2008
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 has been out in the UK for a month now now. It comes out in the US tomorrow. Given the ups and downs of the PES franchise over the years, we usually take a look at reviews from users before dropping cash on a non-returnable game. We’ve found that the best source of such reviews is Amazon UK’s PC and Video Games section.
Based on the input of the Amazon UK users, it’s hard to say whether PES 2009 is a good game or not. Some users love it, some an ambivalent and some hate it. Unfortunately, those disappointed with the game seem to be more abundant than those who are fond of it. If that is the case, then PES 2009 will surely mark the end of an era in soccer gaming. Who can forget the wonderful gameplay and addictive nature for PES 4 and 5 (known as Winning Eleven 8 and 9 respectively in North America)? Nevertheless, we’ll probably rent the game for a test drive to see if it’s worthy of a $50 donation to Konami Inc.
Take a look at the PS3 user reviews for yourself. Some are clearly biased while others can be quite helpful and entertaining. We’ve sorted them to show the newest reviews first to weed out those that are based on the PES 2009 demo or simply pure PES 2009 love. The XBox 360 reviews are mostly quite bad.
As of today, Pro Evolution Soccer for PS3 is not longer in Amazon UK’s PC and Video Games Best Seller list.
