Argentina adidas World Cup 2010 Kit / Camiseta Officially Launched
Asociación de Fútbol Argentino (AFA) president, Julio Grondona and veteran midfielder Juan Sebastián Verón have officially presented the Argentina World Cup 2010 home kit to the public.
The new Albiceleste first choice strip will make its on the field debut in Madrid on November 14th when Argentina meets Spain in a friendly.
The kit’s style is very vintage in feels and is reminiscent of that worn by Diego Maradona and company when Argentina won its last FIFA World Cup.
“La camiseta de la selección siempre es muy linda, ojalá que la pueda usar muchas veces” / “The team’s kit is always very nice, I hope that it can use it many times,” said Verón .
Argentina manager Diego Maradona was not present at the kit launch due to preparations for next week’s match.
Notable features of the Argentina adidas World Cup 2010 home shirt include:
- The new blue and white Argentina home kit resembles the national flag and features special mesh material similar to the fabric used in the jersey worn by the 1986 World Cup winning team.
- The away kit features double blue stripes and silver lining for the first time since the 1986 World Cup.
- The Sun mirrors the national anthem and pride of Argentina helping players and fans to “live crowned with glory.”
