The Russia Football Union (RFU) have officially presented the Russia adidas 2010/12 home kit.

The presentation took place earlier today at the Pavlovsky Hall of the Moscow’s Marriott Grand Hotel with Russian internationals Roman Pavlyuchenko, Sergei Semak, Vasily Berezutsky and Pavel Pogrebnyak serving as kit models.

The new Russia 10/12 adidas kit will be worn for the first time on Saturday, November 14th when Guus Hiddink’s men meet Slovenia in the first leg of their FIFA World Cup UEFA playoff series in Moscow.

Should Russia qualify for the 2010 World Cup, this is the kit that will serve as their primary uniform for the duration of their run in the tournament.

As with all of the new adidas kits released over the past two weeks, a ForMotion version and a Techfit version (which is used by players on the field) of the kit have been released.

Notable features of the new Russia shirt are as follows:

  • Deep red and gold colors are prominent in the new Russia home kit.
  • A special eagle design by popular Khokhloma art is featured on the back and accompanied by the word Russia in traditional text.
  • This same eagle is featured on the front combined with unique horizontal lines inspired by Russian architecture creating a background for the proud national symbol.
  • The white, red and blue of the away kit mirror the Russian national flag.
