Video: Luca Toni AS Roma Official Presentation and Debut Match

January 2, 2010 Leave a comment

Italian international striker Luca Toni has joined Italian Serie side AS Roma on a six-month loan from the Bundesliga’s FC Bayern Munich.

The 32-year-old striker was presented as an AS Roma player earlier today in Rome. He then featured in the club’s friendly match against Cisco Roma.

Once a fixture in the Bayern Munich frontline, Toni has been used sparingly by the club since the arrival of new coach Louis Van Gaal. In his time at FCB, Toni scored a total of 38 goals and led the club to the Bundesliga and German Cup double in 2008.

Here’s a first look at Toni in the 09/10 AS Roma kits.

Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo is an Italian football club from Palermo, Sicily currently playing in the Italian Serie A and coached by former Italy national goalkeeper Walter Zenga.

Following its return to Serie A in 2004, the club became one of the most prominent in Italy. It has obtained a UEFA Cup / Europa League place in each of the past three seasons and narrowly missed UEFA Champions League qualification in 2007.

The official Palermo team colours are pink and black, giving rise to the nickname rosanero; another less common nickname is aquile, referring to the eagle present in both the official club logo and the coat of arms of the city of Palermo.

Palermo are currently enjoying a fine run of form and sit in 5th position in the 2009/10 Serie A table. Here is a look at their 09/10 Lotto kit collection.

SS Lazio Puma 2009/10 Third Kit / Maglia

Back in June Italian Serie A club S.S. Lazio released their 2009/10 Puma home and away kits. Now the club’s Puma 09/10 third jersey has hit the streets.

Interestingly, even though the new kit is now available for purchase from Subside Sports, Lazio has not made an official announcement regarding it.

From what we can tell, the Lazio Puma 09/10 third kit recognizes the club’s 110th year anniversary via embroidery reading 1900-2010 under the badge. The  shirt design appears very similar to the Italy Confederations Cup 2009 kit. Evidently, the same Puma template was used for both shirts.

Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, commonly referred to as simply Napoli, is an Italian professional football club based in Naples and founded in 1926. The club has spent most of their history in the top tier in Italian football and recently finished in 12th position in the 2008/09 Serie A.

SSC Napoli is currently managed by former Italy national team manager and AC Milan legend Roberto Donadoni. The club’s most famous former player is Argentine legend Diego Maradona.

Last night, Napoli presented its Macron home, away and third kits for the 2009/10 season. This was done with the help of several Italian soccer babes.

According to the Napoli’s English language website:

We have presented, in occasion of the first seasonal match at the San Paolo stadium, the new SSC Napoli official match shirts for the season 2009-2010.

The Home shirt is characterized by its classic blue colour that since always distingishes the Neapolitan team, enriched by white details that call to mind the white short.

The Away shirt is silver coloured and it is thought in honour of the vivacity and vitality that distinguishes historically the Naples city and its people (quick silver).

The third shirt, red/gold, celebrates the supporters’passion towards their team.
