Here are some extras from our extremely popular weekly look at the weekend’s Mexican Primera cheerleaders.  It features several cheerleader (or porrista in Spanish) pictures from the recently concluded Mexican Apertura 2009 that didn’t make it to our weekly review. Since the league is on winter break right now, we thought that this would be a good time to bring them to you.

Soccer Babes – Mexican Primera Apertura 2009 Finals Cheerleaders / Porristas

The second leg of the Mexican Apertura 2009 finals took place yesterday with Monterrey winning its third ever championship. As you might expect, there were tons of cheerleaders, female fans and promotional babes in and around the Cruz Azul’s Estadio Azul for the big occasion. Here’s a look at some of them in what is probably our last weekly look at the weekend’s Mexican Primera cheerleaders of 2009. Hopefully we’ll run into more pictures for some bonus coverage.

Video: Monterrey 2 – Cruz Azul 1 (Mexican Primera Apertura 2009 Finals)

Monterrey won their third league title yesterday by defeating Cruz Azul 2-1 in the second leg of the 2009 Mexican Primera Apertura final. Their victory in Mexico City saw Los Rayados win the two-game final series 6-4 on aggregate.

Aldo de Nigris put Monterrey 1-0 lead ahead a header in the 55th minute on a cross from Chile international Humberto Suazo.

Alejandro Castro equalized for Cruz Azul in the 77th. However, the hosts hopes of tying on aggregate the series were destroyed when Suazo scored with seconds left in the match.

Video: Monterrey 4 – Cruz Azul 3 (Mexican Primera Apertura 2009 Finals)

Los Rayados of Monterrey rallied from a 3-1 first half deficit to defeat Cruz Azul 4-3 in the first leg of the final of the 2009 Mexican Apertura playoffs.

Cruz Azul went ahead on goals from Paraguayan midfielder Christian Riveros in the 6th and 17th minutes and Argentine striker Emanuel Villa in the 34th.

Chilean international Humberto Suazo’s two goals (including an 88th minute game winner) and another from substitute Sergio Santana capped the hosts’ remarkable comeback heading into Sunday’s return leg in Mexico City.
